APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS FOR CHILDREN

Applied Behavior Analysis has been around since the 1970s. Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based method of achieving behavior change. Behavior is observed and analyzed by a trained behavior analyst, which results in an understanding of the behavior, that is, the function for which the target behavior is used. With the use of reinforcers, appropriate and positive behavior is strengthened, while ineffective or inappropriate behaviors are eliminated.

ABA is a positive means of changing behaviors that may be impacting the success of children in school or in interactions with parents, siblings, or peers. ABA has proven especially effective when used to assist those with autism. The overall aim of ABA is to help the individual address socially significant behaviors, so that there are fewer negative interactions with others and the child is able to succeed in school or in social settings.

ABA is also effective with older children and teens. Call us, if you need help with your child's behavior. We can make a difference.
